Ready-to-install pull-start starter for clockwise-rotating Puch Maxi S / N or Puch Supermaxi LG1 mopeds with an E50 engine and MVT racing ignition.
Unlike many conventional designs, this pull-start starter features a precision-machined pulley made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic and a perfectly fitting return mechanism. The durable stainless-steel return spring ensures smooth retraction, while the specially woven starter cord operates reliably even under regular use.
The pull starter was tested under the toughest racing conditions by our Mofacross team. This pull starter is ideal for all enthusiasts who value robust construction, precise operation, and reliable starting performance.
The complete pull-start system is assembled in-house and inspected and tested according to strict specifications. This way, you’re always ready to go—even when you need to get moving quickly.
Installation:
- Starter pinion: Clean the MVT flywheel, then screw the counterpart for the cable-pull starter onto the flywheel (secure with the included screws using Loctite).
- Cable starter: Position the starter housing correctly and tap it gently with a plastic hammer until the cable starter fits perfectly. It can then be screwed into place.
Usage:
- Before starting, slowly pull the cord a few times to let the engine idle (must be done before every start attempt).
- Pull out the recoil starter handle until it locks into place and you feel resistance. Then pull it all the way out in one smooth motion.
Tip: Wear gloves! Hold the handle firmly.
Notes:
The original kick-start mechanism can no longer be used because the pedal arms interfere with the pull-starter housing. Therefore, footrests, a longer pedal axle, or a pedal axle extension must be installed.
The cable-pull starter can only be used in conjunction with an MVT ignition system.
